Being in the third grade, she considers herself mature enough to take care of herself. Ramona is a clever, lively and creative child, whose antics may at times get a handful, though she is loving and sincere at heart. She gets excited about this change as she could go to school by herself in the school bus. The story begins with Ramona starting third grade in Cedarhurst Primary School, changing from her old school, Glenwood which gets turned into an Intermediate School.
